James McArthur-Appleby

Psychotherapist/Counsellor

I am a psychotherapist who is motivated by a desire to help others improve their autonomy and reduce the negative impacts of our society on their mental health so they can transform into the people they wish to be. Through my work I have assisted young people and families who have experienced trauma and instability to resolve or manage issues with anger, anxiety, depression, communication and setting healthy boundaries. I can assist you with these and other life and mental health challenges by providing a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

Experience: I have worked in the government and non-government sectors supporting adults, young people and families. My training consisted of completing a Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) through Charles Sturt University.
